Hammerhead 25 Years Single Malt Whisky – Czech Republic

S$888.00

Whisky that straddles history.  Distilled in 1989 behind the “Iron Curtain” when the Czech Republic was part of Czechoslovakia.  This single malt is a vintage release distilled at the Prádlo Distillery before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Hammerhead 1989 is distilled from malted Czech barley that was then milled using a hammer mill, hence the name. After 25 years maturing in Czech oak casks, it’s bottled at 40.7% ABV.

About Hammerhead

Distilled at the state owned Pradlo distillery in Czechoslovakia, it was put in to Czech oak casks. Then the global political landscape changed in a sudden and drastic way… and this single malt was forgotten.
